Your job as Innovation Engineer

At Van de Velde, lingerie is about more than just fashion; it’s about engineering precision and advanced technology. As an Innovation Engineer, you play a crucial role in integrating digitalization and technological progress into our designs and production processes. Van de Velde distinguishes itself on the market by focusing on the perfect fit and ultimate wearing comfort. As an Innovation Engineer you will work within our innovation team, which focuses on 3 axes:

  • Experience: Lead innovations in both offline and online retail environments, such as 3D mirrors, virtual fitting solutions, and personalized sizing advice.
  • Process: Drive advancements in design and production through digital simulations, CAD/CAM, robotics, and digital fitting rooms.
  • Product: Engineer technical product enhancements, including advanced support structures, 3D forming techniques, and 3D knitting.

The fast development in digitalization offers many new opportunities on every axis. That is why Van de Velde wants to strengthen the current team with an Innovation Engineer with expertise in modeling (PCA models, digital twins), simulation and algorithm development.

Your responsibilities.

  • Knowledge management: Management and development of knowledge in the field of modeling, simulation, size prediction software and fit algorithms.
  • Trend analysis: Stay ahead of technology trends and assessing their potential for Van de Velde.
  • Research Development: Identifying and translating emerging technologies into impactful research projects, leading to real-world applications.
  • Collaboration and Prototyping: Work closely with design, retail, and other departments to convert research findings into innovative prototypes and proof of concepts.
  • Stakeholder Management: Advise and guide the business in the development and implementation of new tools, services and processes.

Your Profile as an Innovation Engineer

  • You hold a Master's degree in a mathematical or scientific field (e.g. computer science, engineering, mathematics) with approximately 5 years of relevant experience, or a PhD.
  • You have in-depth knowledge of modeling and simulations, and experience with algorithm development.
  • You are proficient in data analysis using tools as Matlab, R and Python.
  • You have a strong 3D understanding with knowledge of software such as Maya and Rhino are a plus.
  • You are passionate about emerging technologies and can translate trends into actionable research plans.
  • You excel in conducting independent applied research and developing proof of concepts.
  • You have excellent communication skills and can clearly explain technical concepts to various stakeholders.
  • You are a team player with experience in project management.
  • Languages: You are fluent in Dutch and English.
